Alawi and the resumption of diplomatic ties with Syria

The Ambassador at the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, Hasan Alawi, said that the target of his presence in Damascus is to follow up on the resumption of the diplomatic relations between the two states which will be at the level of ambassadors.
In a statement following his meeting with Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara on Monday, Alawi stressed that all signs confirm that the bilateral relations between Syria and Iraq will be good and satisfactory in the future. He also pointed out that both countries will sign a security agreement soon. Alawi is the candidate to the post of his country's ambassador to Syria.
