Al-Anbaa: Ford: Syrian-British relations are excellent

British Ambassador in Damascus Peter Ford described the Syrian-British relations as excellent.

In a special interview with Kuwaiti newspaper "Al-Anbaa" published on Sunday, Ford welcomes the signing by the initials of the Syria-EU Association Agreement, asserting it will positively reflect on everybody, saying " we are looking forward to a continuous development of relations with Syria."

In response to a question on the possibility of pushing the peace process in the Middle East after the reelection of U.S. President George W. Bush, Ford expressed his country's hope that Bush's second term in office would witness giving priority to the Middle East to find a just and comprehensive solution to achieve peace which guarantees the rights of all peoples since peace is the most importance requirements for the region.

Regarding the Iraqi issue, Ford asserted importance of holding Iraqi general elections in January as scheduled, adding "we will do our best to make these elections a success."
