Vatican calls on Muslims and Catholics to protect children
Regional-Vatican, Culture, 11/6/2004
In a message addressed on the occasion of the approaching end of the holy month of Ramadan, the Vatican called on Muslims and Catholics to carry out joint efforts to protect children, in particular to the two issues of sexual abuse and body organs trade.
In a written message issued by the Vatican council for religions dialogue, Pope John Paul II said that in confrontations of these evils which affect our children, "we have to unify the efforts and remind people of the dignity of each and every man whose own creation is due to Almighty God." The message also called on the Catholics and Muslims to deplore "all which humiliate the child" in the world.
