No Egyptian mediation in Western Sahara issue
Egypt-Algeria, Politics, 11/4/2004
Egypt's Official Presidential Spokesman Maged Abdul Fattah Wednesday denied press reports that there was an Egyptian mediation in the Western Sahara dispute between Morocco and Algeria.
Speaking exclusively to MENA, Abdul Fattah said that dealing with this issue is through the UN which exerts strenuous efforts to settle it taking into consideration stances by some parties concerned.
He added that Egypt was keen that the dispute does not affect relations between Morocco and Algeria which are considered one of the main pillars of Arabs' solidarity.
Algerian newspaper Al-Fajr of Tuesday published reports on an Egyptian mediation in the Western Sahara dispute.
