Government reshuffle in UAE brings in the first woman
President of the United Arab Emirates UAE Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al-Nahyan yesterday made a ministerial reshuffle that provided for appointing a new minister of oil Muhammad Bin Zahen al-Hamili. He also introduced for the first time a woman to the ministry, according to the UAE news agency.

Mauritanian Authorities arrest people smuggler from separatist Polisario
Mauritanian security forces on Sunday arrested a member of the separatist movement "Polisario" while he was attempting to smuggle into the Moroccan territory 52 would-be immigrants from Sub Saharan Africa. These are:19 from Ghana, 16 from Gambia and 17 from Mali.

Clashes in al-Ramadi, 15 Iraqis killed in Tikrit, new bombardment in Falluja
The American forces continued their air bombardment of Falluja yesterday at dawn resulting in several being killed and injured. Witnesses said that one of the killed is the driver of a rental car whose car was attacked by American soldiers while he was transporting a family coming from Baghdad.

Syria is producing 475,000 barrel of oil daily
Syria is currently producing about 475 thousand barrel of oil per day where about 300 thousand BPD are exported. This constitutes about 60 percent of the government's hard currencies revenue, a report by SANA on Monday said.
