Al Ahram: El Adly: Egypt did not receive specific information from Israel before Taba bombings

Egypt's Minister of Interior said in an interview with Al Ahram newspaper that Egyptian security services did not receive specific information from Israel prior to Taba bombings warning against possible aggressive activities against its nationals due to the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.
He said that all evidences and confessions collected by the security services on Taba bombings indicate that there was no slacking by the security services before bombings.
The Minister of Interior said that the lack of coordination in combating terrorism was behind the existence of terrorist groups in many countries all over the world not including Egypt which has managed to undermine terrorist operations in it.
He said that nobody could deny that there was still some activities by Al Qaeda organization due to the difficulties facing combat efforts. Asked whether Taba bombings would indicate that there is some sort of coordination between local organizations and foreign ones, the Minister of Interior said that investigation results did not indicate that there was coordination adding that Egypt will never allow the emergence of any cell affiliated to Al Qaeda or any other organization on its territories.
The Minister of Interior said that Egypt will never be an extension to the cycle of violence in the occupied territories, referring to statements by President Mubarak that the cycle of violence need concerted world efforts for eliminating it.
