New Lebanese government determined to deal with economic and social problems

The Lebanese government seems determined to achieve success by the support of the social bodies in Lebanon.

Lebanese President Emil Lahoud recently called for transparency in management and for rationalization of public funds expenditure.

He stressed that the economic and social issue will be the focus of his government particularly in issue such as taxes, fuel, electricity, health and education.

For his part, Premier Omar Karami stressed that his government will focus on the social files stressing that his government will be in the service of all the Lebanese people.

He expressed his government determination to combat corruption in management with an iron fist.

His deputy, Isam Fares stressed that the government will be committed to the implementation of al-Taif Agreement and will not be affected by internal or external pressures.
