The first visit for an Iraqi president, Elyawer in Kuwait today

The Iraqi President Ghazi ElYawer starts today an official visit to Kuwait which will last for two days. It is the first for an Iraqi President in the modern history of the two neighboring states.
Elyawer who will be accompanied in his visit by a governmental delegation including the defense minister Hazem al-Shalaan will hold talks with the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti officials dealing with "bilateral relations and asking for economic support to Iraq," according to a Kuwaiti official source.
Elyawer's talks will also concentrate on the question of the "debts and compensations accumulated on Iraq for Kuwait" as a result of seven months of the Iraqi occupation.
