Al-Assad received American Church Delegation

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday received a delegation of Church World Service in the U.S. in the presence of Secretary General of Middle East Churches' Council.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the prevailing situation in the region, specially in Iraq and in Palestine and the issue of fighting terrorism. President Assad stressed the importance of dialogue among religions, pointing out to the spiritual plurality and tolerance that Syria is enjoying, as well as Syria's historical role in the region.
For its part, the American delegation reviewed goals of its tour in the region, expressing solidarity with the Arab causes.
