Polish hostage, 11 Iraqi police men executed in Iraq
Iraq, Local, 10/29/2004

One Polish woman has joined the group of other foreigners kidnapped in Iraq after a video tape broadcast by al-Jazeera TV showed an armed group while detaining what it called one Polish woman working for the American forces, calling for releasing her and the pull out of all Polish forces from Iraq.

The hostage appealed for the release of all Iraqi women detained in Abu Ghreib jail to the west of Baghdad.

An elderly woman appeared sitting between two veiled men, with a gun directed to her head and on the back a black banner on which written " Abu Baker al-Saddiq Salafeyah group." The Polish defense minister Yarzi Shamyndisky rejected the demands of the kidnappers and said that the polish forces stationed in Iraq -- tolls 2500 soldiers -- are standing in their position.

On the other hand, the Japanese deputy foreign minister arrived in Amman yesterday marking the beginning of a tour of efforts aimed at releasing the Japanese hostage. The Japanese official stressed that his country did not make any contacts with the kidnappers.

The Japanese prime minister rejected the withdrawal of his forces deployed in Iraq in response to the demands by "al-Jihad Qaida group in the Mesopotamia ( former al-Tawhid Wal Jihad )" led by Abu Musab al- Zarqawi.

In London, the British foreign office announced " it will study very carefully " the answer which will be given after broadcasting the new video tape for the British hostage Margaret Hassan held in Iraq, in which she renewed her call on London to withdraw its forces from Iraq.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi al-Sunnah supporters army -- which is believed to have links to al-Qaida organization -- announced the execution of 11 Iraqi soldiers from the national guards forces after they were kidnapped in southern Baghdad.

A statement on the Internet website said that the group beheaded one soldier and then executed the other ten by gunshots.

In a statement on the Internet, the group said that the soldiers admitted their collaboration with the multi national forces and members of the police called for dropping weapons and halting their support for the Americans.

Another Iraqi armed group announced it "owns the (350 tons) of explosives which went missing in Iraq after the American invasion."
