Washington: plans were foiled against Americans in Jordan
Jordan-USA, Politics, 10/28/2004
The US Department Of State announced on Tuesday that several plans to launch aggressions against American targets in Jordan were foiled since April, but the American citizens and interests are still vulnerable in this country.
The Department Of State explained through the American embassy in Amman that extremists linked to the Islamic extremist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and al-Qaida organization are still calling for "violence against the Americans." It added in a memorandum addressed to the American citizens that the "embassy received authentic reports that indicate several plans to attack American interest in Jordan failed in the last 6 months."
The memorandum explained "persons affiliate to local terrorist groups affiliate to al-Zarqawi and al-Qaida are in the country with the intention of hurting the Americans."
