Egypt; no links for Taba explosions to any Palestinian group
Egypt-Palestine, Politics, 10/27/2004
Egypt has renewed yesterday its assertion that there are no ties linking between the Palestinian who designed the explosions of Sinai resorts and between the Palestinian organizations.
On Monday, Cairo announced that the Palestinian Eyad Saeed saleh, who lives in al-Areesh planned the explosions which killed 33 persons on October 7th and that he was killed in one of the explosions because of a mistake in preparing the timer.
The official spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency Majid Abdul Fattah said that there is no "information about the Palestinian man who was killed in the incident to be a member in any certain Palestinian organization and therefore there can not be a link between him and between the Palestinian groups and organizations."
On the other hand, the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stressed during his meeting with the foreign minister of Luxembourg Jan Aslborn on Tuesday on the need of finding a solution for the Israeli- Palestinian conflict., the situation in Iraq so as to be able to succeed in fighting terrorism.
Abdul Fattah said that Mubarak stressed during the meeting that "not supporting the issue of Iraq and the Palestinian issue are among the reasons for violence and international terrorism." He quoted Mubarak as saying "the process of fighting terrorism and halting violence in the Middle East starts with settling the two said issues."
