Pope Shenouda highlights national unity during meeting with US delegation

Pope Shenouda III of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese received yesterday a US clergymen delegation currently visiting Egypt at the invitation of the Mideast Council of Churches. The delegation comprises leaderships of the US Evangelical Church.
Pope Shenouda highlighted the national unity in Egypt and the tolerance between Muslims and Christians. He drew attention to the symbolic national unity Iftar banquet that is extended by the Ministry of Awqaf and the Cathedral as well as other Islamic and Christian quarters.
The delegation's visit itinerary includes meetings with foreign minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit and head of the Evangelical denomination in Egypt Safwat El Bayyadi as well a number of Islamic and Christian leaderships.
