Economic group discusses tomorrow tax draft, custom duties
Egypt, Economics, 10/23/2004
The economic ministerial group will meet this week under Egypt's Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif to discuss reports on upgrading the national economic performance, pushing forward investments, taming prices and the new tax draft law.
Official sources said the tax draft law will include some amendments that will provide a decline in the rate imposed on the income tax, thus scoring a rise on per capita income. The new amendments will be referred to the People's Assembly for approval following the government's discussions.
The meeting will focus also on the proposed second stage of customs duty cuts in a bid to encourage setting up more projects and easing burdens on the low-income families.
