Al-Assad confers with American clergymen delegation

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad received a delegation of the Presbyterian Church in the United States at the Peoples Palace Tuesday morning.
Al-Assad briefed the delegation on Syria's stance towards the peace process in the Middle East, fighting terrorism, and the situation in Iraq.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the situations in the region and Israeli practices against the Palestinian people.
Talks also shed lights on the peace process in the Middle East which is based on the international resolutions.
Both sides talked about Syria's historical role in the region, distinguished spiritual diversity in Syria and the role of clergymen in spreading moral values in the society.
