Syrian Ugarit exhibition shown in France
Syria-France, Local, 10/20/2004

French city of Lyon is to host an exhibition on the Syrian Archeological Kingdom of Ugarit on October 20. This comes in the framework of the exerted cultural efforts to make the French be acquainted with Syria on the cultural and humanitarian levels.

The exhibition which is organized in cooperation with the French Louvre Museum, Ministry of culture and the Directorate General of Museums and antiquities as well as the Excavation mission at Ras Shamra; will be held on the occasion of 75 years of discovering Ugarit Kingdom on the Syrian coast.

Ugarit flourished at mid-two thousand B.C. and its people put the first alphabet for humanity.

The ceremony will be under the patronage of the French city of Lyon Mayor, together with the Syrian ambassador to France Mrs. Sebah Naser and will last for three-days.
