Caldanian community in Lebanon deplores recent explosions against churches in Iraq
Lebanon-Iraq, Politics, 10/19/2004

The Supreme Council for the Caldanian Sect in Lebanon asserted that the latest events which targeted Christians in Baghdad aim at partitioning Iraq and provoking a civil to serve interest of the country's enemies.

In a statement issued Monday at the conclusion of an emergency meeting in Beirut following attacks on five churches in Baghdad, the Council appealed to all Iraqi officials to be aware of plots that target Iraq's unity.

The Council called for containing the situation and bringing the perpetrators to the court. It also called on all clergymen to spread a spirit of unity and tolerance, and urged international agencies to support all walks of the Iraqi society so that they can bypass current crises.
