Libya-Germany, Politics, 10/16/2004
"The Leader of the Revolution, stressed during his meeting with the German Chancellor, the damages and tragedies left by thousands of land mines planted by belligerent forces during the Second World War, inflicted on the Libyan people, because of the landmines of that war in which Libya had nothing to do with," JANA reported yesterday.
JANA said "The leader showed a map of the mine fields and fortifications made by the forces of the Nazi Germany, on this land, planted from June 1940 to January 1943."
JANA added "The German Chancellor confirmed his country's readiness to provide available maps showing the sites of the landmines, and provide equipment that could help in discovering the landmines and contribute to the establishment and construction of a specialized hospital to help landmine victims.
