American planes expand bombardment of Falluja city
Iraq-USA, Politics, 10/15/2004
The American warplanes launched more raids against several quarters in Falluja city on Thursday evening giving so far no details on the number of casualties or damages.
The American planes raided the quarters of al-Sinai ( Industrial), al-Askari and the Golan in the city. The American helicopters also raised other areas and news reports said that the explosions were heard during these raids which lasted for a while.
Medical sources in the city said that Thursday's raids resulted in killing 5 civilians and injuring 16.
The American forces are launching almost daily attacks on Falluja. These raids came one day after the threat made by the Interim Iraqi prime minister Eyad Allawi to the people of Falluja to hand over the so called Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in order to avoid a comprehensive attack against the city.
The people of the city said that al-Zarqawi is not among them and that the American forces themselves know nothing about him and that the negotiations which were between a delegation representing Falluja city and the government stopped after the threats made by Allawi.
In Baghdad, four American security members were killed in an explosion inside what is called the Green Zone. Another American soldier was killed when fire was opened at his vehicle in the downtown of Baghdad. This came, however, hours after the killing of one soldier and wounding another in a bomb explosion to the west of the city.
In separate incidents in Baghdad., one investigation judge and one woman journalist were killed at the hands of unidentified persons. Two Iraqi officers were killed in Baqouba when fire was opened on their car.
In Musil to the north of Baghdad, one civilian was killed and six members of the national guards were killed in a bomb explosion on one road sideline in the city. One booby trapped car went off near one American vehicle there.
