Elias Murad, director and chief editor of al-Baath daily

Syrian media sources said yesterday that the Syrian forces appointed Elias Murad as a director general and chief editor of al-Baath daily, mouthpiece of the ruling party in Syria.
Murad succeeded in this post Mahdi Dakhlallah who was appointed on October 4th as a minister of information.
Since 2001, Murad has been assuming the deputy director and deputy editor in chief of al-Baath daily and before that and for ten years he serves as a secretary of the editing department of the Syrian official news agency. He was a member of the Syrian parliament from 1994-1998.
