Shura Council agrees on new IT body
Egypt-Regional, Economics, 10/14/2004
Egypt's Shura Council Energy and Industry Committee yesterday agreed to establish an Arab information technology (IT) organization.
The organization would boost Arab cooperation in IT and encourage foreign investment.
Members of the Arab League (AL) and representatives of public and private IT firms would be eligible for membership of the planned organization.
"Egypt will benefit from this agreement and will witness a big development in this field," said Fekriya Allam, advisor to the Ministry of Communication and IT.
