Mubarak and Chirac inaugurate Glory of Pharaohs exhibition in Paris

Egypt's Presidents Hosni Mubarak and France's Jacques Chirac Wednesday co- inaugurated the "Glory of the Pharaohs" exhibition at the Arab World Instiaute.
President Chirac and Mrs. Chirac reached the Arab World Institute to welcome the Egyptian leader and his spouse upon arrival.
The two heads of state opened the exhibition which showcases 250 pieces of Egyptian antiquities.
They toured the exhibition, organized by the Arab World Institute in cooperation with the Higher Council for antiquities and a number of international museums including the Louvre Museum in Paris.
Presidents Mubarak and Chirac later listened to a speech in French by the institute's chairman Yves Guena and in Arabic by it director Dr. Nasser Al Ansari.
Afterwards, Guena offered the two presidents the honourar golden medal of the institute.
The six-month exhibition showcases a total of 250 pieces of Egyptian antiquities, 135 of which were brought from Egypt to be displayed in the exhibition for the first time.
ΚΚΚ Other items were brought from the louvre, Berlin, Metropolitan and Philadelphia museums.
