Egypt keen on pursuing dialogue with Israeli Knesset members
Egypt-Israel, Politics, 10/11/2004

Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit said on Saturday that Egypt was keen on listening to Israeli Knesset members and posting them on Egyptian views on the situation in the Palestinian territories and the Middle East peace process.

The statements came during a meeting between Abul-Gheit and Arab Knesset member Talab al-Sane,a diplomatic source said.

Contacts with the Israeli side at government and parliament levels have positively helped peaceful settlement efforts in the interest of the Palestinian cause, Abul-Gheit said.

Meanwhile, Sane underlined the need to unify the Israeli peace camp to act in unison to reach a peaceful settlement to the conflict.

The Arab Knesset member also said that the incessant Israeli attacks on the Palestinians beef up the position of the right wing, the source added.
