Fischer hails the Arab participation as a guest of honor in Frankfurt Book Exhibition
Regional-Germany, Politics, 10/11/2004

German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer has stressed that Arab participation in Frankfurt Book Fair for this year as a guest of honor would push the civilizational and cultural relations among civilizations forward.

In a statement following his meeting with Arab League Secretary General Amre Mousa, Fischer said that " Dialogue among civilizations constitutes a bridge for the achievement of an international understanding and the realization of just peace in the Middle East." Frankfurt Book Fair is one of the world's biggest book fairs. The Fair dates back to the 15th century.

Frankfurt Book Fair was organized for the first time in the late 15th century, a few years after the discovery of movable type by Johannes Gutenberg, and soon distinguished itself from other book markets in both size and outlook.
