On the West Jamahiriya gas project

JANA reported yesterday that "The Italian Partner in the West Jamahiriya Gas Project, stressed that this huge strategic project is the founding stone in the history of the petroleum industry. "Because of this project, Great Jamahiriya will become one of the major exporters of gas to Europe... exporting this gas gives a great momentum to the north and south relations" he said.
The Libyan official news agency added "He revealed in his speech in the opening ceremony Thursday that the gas-line which links Libya and Italy is 1000 meters deep and it is the first pipeline made to carry one billion cubic meters of gas ."
