Regional-Germany, Local, 10/9/2004

Officials at the International Frankfurt book Fair yesterday said that the Arab books confiscated by the police under the pretext of anti- Semitism on Thursday will be kept in the Fair after the police made an investigation which showed that the books content does not need banning.

Simon Wiesenthal center which defends the Jewish rights said that certain books displayed in the guest of honors pavilions from the Arab world violate the German laws which ban provoking hatred.

However, the organizers announced they will not withdraw these books after the police investigation which showed that the content of the books does not provoke hatred, according to the spokesman for the fair, Holger Eheling.
