New Syrian ministers take constitutional oath before the President

The newly-appointed ministers in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Naji Otari on Wednesday sworn-in before President Bashar al-Assad at al-Shaab Palace.

Later, President al-Assad chaired the Cabinet meeting, congratulating the new ministers and wishing them success in their duties.

President al-Assad talked about the internal situation, focusing on the most important challenges which confront the work of the government, including tackling the problem of unemployment and issues due to globalization, particularly what is related to economic, social and cultural fields.

He stressed the necessity for each ministry to put mechanisms of its work, referring to the importance of putting the needed solutions to provide the necessary competence and enhance the mentality which implements the needed assignments in all sectors.

President al-Assad stressed the necessity for the Government to take into its consideration the ambitions of the citizens and meet their needs, define priorities and continue the process of modernization and development, stressing the necessity of opening the doors for journalists.

He also stressed the important role of judiciary in achieving justice, adding that the permanent evaluation of performance is the only way that could enhance the work, pointing out to the significance of the collective work and integration among different ministries to put an end to the routine and bureaucracy.

Al-Assad wished success to the government in its work, stressing the important role of the ministers in boosting the culture of work to the government employees, calling on them to pay field visits and take decisions based on merit and not based on personal relations.
