Mubarak urged the Palestinian and Israeli sides to abide by the Roadmap; Hizb al-Karamah al-Arabia refused license

The Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak avoided in a televised speech broadcast yesterday on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the October Liberation war of 1973 to indicate the continued Israeli occupation against north Gaza, noting that Cairo will continue efforts towards solving the Palestinian- Israeli crisis and to establish peace in Iraq and also to enhance its relations with Africa. He also talked about building a Middle East dominated by democracy.
Mubarak urged the Palestinian and Israeli sides to keep their promises concerning the "Roadmap," considering that this is the only means to " avoid the consequences of the continued violence and counter- violence and to enhance a solid climate that might lead to complete regional cooperation."
Mubarak added that Egypt will "help the Iraqi people to restore back peace, security and stability" through supporting the efforts of the UN Security Council which supports the interim Iraqi government and debates a timetable for the Iraqi transformation for democracy and allows the occupation forces to stay there to maintain security. The Egyptian president repeated his call to make the Middle East, including Israel, a region free from mass destruction weapons, noting that the region is in need of a "common criterion applicable by all countries and not excluding Israel."
Mubarak explained that Egypt will concentrate its efforts to enhance its relations with Africa and "take part in achieving the objectives of the African development plans and solving the political and security problems in the African states." Mubarak talked about building a Middle East dominated by democracy. He said "we disseminate peace, cooperation and peaceful coexistence among nations and sincerely seek to build a stabled Middle East enjoying just and comprehensive peace as a pillar where democracy and freedom is flourishing."
Meantime, The founding group of the " Hizb al-Karamah al-Arabeyah) issued a statement yesterday in which it stressed that " the government parties committees refused to license it for open political work." The statement issued by the founding group including Naserites, Leftists and university rectors explained that the decision of the parties committee "fall in the context in which the political regime refused to respond to the demands of the political and social forces, where the role of this committee is confined to refusing the formation of parties."
