Larsen calls for immediate Israeli withdrawal from Gaza

The United Nations Envoy to the Middle East peace process Terry Rod-Larsen called on Israel to immediately withdraw from Gaza Strip and the West Bank, adding that this move is the only way out of the deteriorated situation.
Larsen, in an interview broadcast Monday on the Doha-based al-Jazeera satellite TV station, said the footage of killings and wounded people and the sufferings of the Palestinian families in Gaza "breaks the heart," describing as tragic the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories. The UN senior official added that the continued situation in the Palestinian areas brought nothing but bloodshed and destruction.
