Kuwait-Palestine, Politics, 10/4/2004
A Palestinian media delegation including representatives for the local media started an official visit to Kuwait on Saturday. It is the first for the second Gulf war in 1990 and freezing relations between the two sides.
The chairman of the delegation Ahmad Dawoud said in statements quoted by the Palestinian media yesterday that the visit which lasts for one week "falls in the course of breaking the siege and isolation imposed on the Palestinian people and we do hope that the visit will be for the good of restoring back historical Palestinian- Kuwaiti relations as they were before."
The visit came at the official invitation of the Kuwaiti ministry of the information at a Palestinian personal initiative by Palestinian figures who continued to have contacts with Kuwait despite official boycott.
The delegation met with the secretary of the foreign media sector Sheikh Mubarak al-Da'j al-Sabah and he is due to meet with other officials especially the ministers of foreign affairs and, information and labor as well as visits to press establishments and dailies.
