Two western bodies in Baghdad, American full control on Sameraa

The Iraqi police and medical sources said that two bodies for one man and one woman believed to be westerners were found in al-Mahmoudeyah area to the south of Baghdad on late Saturday evening.

The director of the hospital where the two bodies were taken said that the man was beheaded while the woman was killed by a bullet. He added that the man is in his 50s while the woman was in her 30s and no documents showing their identity was found.

On the other hand, news reports said quoting Iraqi medical sources that one Iraqi was killed and other 8 injured when a bomb went off that targeted one American procession in Abu Ghreib area.

Meantime, in Sameraa to the north of Baghdad, the people started burying their killed and heeling their wounds while American and Iraqi patrols were roving the streets of the city.

American soldiers and members of the Iraqi national guards inspected all houses of the city in search of gunmen.

The Iraqi minister of the interior Falah al-Naqib said during an inspection visit that the American and Iraqi forces completed their mission in the city "with great success," while the American forces considered that it had achieved great victory in its attack against the city.

In this regard, chief spokesmen for the multinational forces in Iraq Gen. Arf Lessil said that the air strike at the premises of the gunmen and more joint military operations between the American and Iraqi forces will continue until December in order to give a chance for the elections which will be held in January 2005.
