Two Yemenis were sentenced to death of USS Cole

Sanaa criminal court yesterday sentenced the death penalty of two Yemenis members in al-Qaida organization and jailing four others in connection of the blowing up incident of the American gunship USS Cole in 2000 which resulted in killing 17 American sailors.
One of the death penalty sentence is against Abdul Rahman al-Nashiri ( 38 year old) who is currently detained in the USA in absentia, and the other four accused men were sentenced in the attack alleged by the leader of al-Qaida organization Osama Bin Laden for periods ranging between five to 10 years.
In addition to al-Nashiroi, the court sentenced to death Jamal Ahmad al-Badawi ( 30 tear old) and the verdict was issued on the accused men after the court found them guilty under the charge of "forming an armed gang and taking part in preparing and carrying out the attack against USS Cole gunship and committing crimes of killing," according to judge Najib al-Qadiri upon reading the sentence following one hour session.
