Moroccan-born Madrid attacks suspect freed

Spanish judge, Juan del Olmo, investigating March 11 Madrid attacks, ordered Friday the release of Moroccan-born Spaniard, Abderrahmane Hammadi Afandi, held since July part of the probe in the attacks, a legal source said.
Afandi, arrested on July 14, is suspected of having prior knowledge on the commuter train bombings that claimed the lives of 191 people and injured over 1,500 others.
The suspect, 32, was arrested near his home in Leganˇs, the neighborhood where several alleged terrorists involved in the attacks committed a collective suicide last April 3 after they were surrounded by police.
