Christian traditions in Syria demonstrated in a Symposium

Chairman of the Churches Council in the Middle East Giorgios Ibrahim Saleh on Sunday said that "Syria represents a symbol of religious tolerance." In his speech in the Symposium that was organized by the Council of the Middle East Churches on Christianity book 'Through its History in the Orient, the Christian Traditions in Syria.' He added that the Council aimed at making the Syrian Christianity a partner in the Islamic-Christian dialogue, pointing out to the role of the Council in this dialogue.
For their part, the Islamic and Christian participants in the symposium stressed that Syria represents a unique symbol of religious tolerance due to the stability and security that Syria enjoys.
