Al-Azhar vigorously condemns kidnappings in Iraq
Regional-Iraq, Politics, 9/24/2004
Al-Azhar's interfaith dialogue committee vigorously condemned on yesterday the kidnapping of civilians in Iraq.
The committee said in a statement that the kidnappers, who behead and kill in cold blood innocent civilians, have nothing to do with Islam.
It said that the kidnapping of civilians, irrespective of their religion, is also ethically rejected.
American Jack Hensley was the last victim of a behead spree in chaos-mired Iraq. He was grisly decapitated by militant group linked to Al-Qaeda operative Abu Musa'ab Al-Zarqawi.
