Okaz: Riyadh: a book withdrawn over containing Jewish texts
Saudi Arabia, Education, 9/24/2004

The Saudi daily Okaz said yesterday that the local authorities in Hael area (640 Km to the north of al-Riyadh) ordered the pull out of a book published in Beirut over containing texts taken from the Torah "in contradiction to the holy Koran and the Sunnah."

The paper explained that "the education and learning department at Hael area asked the faculties, schools and libraries to return back the so far remaining copies of the 'detailed dictionary in dictation' over containing Jewish texts contradict with what stated in the holy Koran and the Sunnah."

The paper added this step came as a response to the decision by the secretary of the ministry of education and educational affairs. The paper said that the said book, composed by Nasif Yamin, was issued by the "Scientific books publishing house" in Beirut. Among these texts which contradict the holy Koran is "a Torah text about the story of prophet Ibrahim and sacrificing his son Ismael as the story differs here from what was stated in the holy Koran," according to the paper.
