A split in al-Salafeyah group Algeria
Algeria, Local, 9/24/2004

A local ( prince ) in al-Salafeyah group for Call And Fighting, in Skikda area to the East of Algeria, refused to recognize the new leader of the group who was chosen on July 6 to replace Nabil al-Sahrawi who was killed by the army in June according to the Algerian dailies issued on Thursday.

The papers quoted well-informed sources that Abdul Majuid Broush ordered his men not to obey the new leader, Abu Mus'ab al-Wadoud, his actual name is Abdul Malik Dourkdal, and to "liquidate" the leader who was appointed in the east, Ahmad Allam, known as " Abu Muqatil" ( father of a fighter) and all his men.

Abdul Majuid Broush was not pleased by the appointment of Abu Muqatil at a time he considers himself the actual leader for the fighters of Skikda and east Algeria.
