One American soldier was killed, injured in armed attacks in Iraq

Armed operations continued against the American forces in Iraq where one marine was killed in clashes with the armed men in al-Anbar governorate to the west of Baghdad.

The US army announced that the soldier was killed on Wednesday evening in the American military operations in the governorate which include Falluja and al-Ramadi cities, and by his killing the number of American soldiers who were killed in Iraq since the beginning of the invasion in 2003 reached 1039, according to Pentagon.

One child and one woman were killed while others injured in Sameraa city following violent clashes between the American forces and gunmen. Two houses were destroyed in the clashes in the city which the American forces besiege its northern entrance since one week.

Meantime, the American army announced in a statement that three of its soldiers were injured and one armored vehicle was burnt in a bomb explosion in al-Sader city in Baghdad. The attacks came following the comprehensive attack which have been launched by the American forces on al-Sader city since last Tuesday when 12 Iraqis were killed at least and scores injured in the fighting with the supporters of the Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sader.
