An attack at an Iraqi oil line

One Iraqi oil official said on Thursday that an attack took place on a pipeline linking the northern and southern oil fields in Iraq and this resulted in halting pumping operations.

The explosion took place in part of the pipeline near Najaf to the south of Baghdad basically used to feed the Iraqi oil refineries. The pipeline was attacked also in 2003.

At the trade level, oil prices New York closure recorded $ 48.35 for one barrel on Wednesday for the first time since one month following a new fall in the American storage of oil products.

The US energy department stressed a decrease in the American oil storage last week and that it reached its lowest level beyond the normal level.
