On the British hostage in Iraq

The American embassy in Baghdad denied any intention to release two Iraqi women detainees by the American forces in Iraq.

News reports talked that one of the woman detainee will be shortly released, in what it seemed an attempt to save the life of the British hostage Kenneth Begley.

The announcement came after the killing of the second American hostage at the hands of gunmen belong to what is called al-Tawhid Wal- Jihad group which called for the release of the Iraqi women detainees.

The American embassy in Baghdad announced yesterday the handing over by the Iraqi authorities of a body the embassy refused to define whether it belongs to the American Jack Hensley, which one armed group announced it had killed.

Within the escalation of the kidnapping operations, the French channel I decided to abstain from sending its journalists into Iraq. The French ambassador headed for the headquarters of the Muslim scholars commission headquarters to give condolences in the death of two of its scholars and continue consultations over the release of the two French hostages.

Meantime, the Canadian foreign minister told the CTV TV that one unit from the American army was able to release Tuesday evening one Canadian woman kidnapped in Iraq since two weeks.

In another development, the family of Omar Youssef Jum'a known as " Abu Anas al-Shami", an official of al-Tawhid Wal-Jihad, confirmed news of his death and announced accepting condolences over his death.

According to Iraqi sources, al-Shami was killed on Friday evening in an American bombardment of a car he was riding with some of his friends in an area near Abu Ghreib.
