Food aid convoy for the Palestinians on Ramadan
Palestine-Syria, Politics, 9/23/2004
A convoy of humanitarian aid left Syria on Wednesday heading to Palestine as a present from the Syrian people to the Palestinian people on the occasion of the advent of holy Ramadan.
The convoy, consisting of 14 buses and called "Ramadan Basket", carries food stuff, cereals and Damascene food products.
The convoy was seen off by Chairman of the Syrian Arab Popular Committee for Supporting the Intifada and Fighting the Zionist Scheme, Ahmad Abdul Karim, and Chairman of Journalists Union, Saber Falhout.
In a statement to SANA, Abdul Karim asserted that the Syrian people will persist supporting the Palestinian people's steadfastness, pointing out that the Syrian aid is part of the country's national stances and support to the Palestinian people who suffer under occupation.
