Egypt seeking Japanese expertise to create exports-friendly atmosphere
Egypt-Japan, Economics, 9/22/2004
Minister of Foreign Trade and Industry Rashid Mohamed Rashid said Tuesday Egypt was seeking Japanese expertise and successful experience to create an exports-friendly atmosphere.
He asserted that Egypt enjoys human resources as well as a cheap and educated work force that only needs training and skills from countries that have a reputable record in this respect.
The Minister met Tuesday with members of the Japanese Businessmen Association to review ways to enhance Egyptian- Japanese cooperation in light of the government's new policy on removing all hurdles stymieing investments.
Rashid reaffirmed during the meeting that Egypt is working to boost the industrial sectors to improve the competitiveness of Egyptian products, said an official source in the Foreign Trade and Industry Ministry.
He praised the strong trade and economic relations between Egypt and Japan, recalling that the Japanese External Trade Organization (JETRO) opened an office in Egypt years ago to promote Japanese trade and investments in the country.
