Silk Road Festival to be held in Palmyra

Syrian ancient city of Palmyra ( middle of Syria ) ended its final preparations of the first Festival of Homs, Badia ( semi-desert ) and Silk Road.
A meeting was held on Tuesday in Palmyra, where a member of the Executive Office in Homs briefed the participants on the activities of the Festival, including an exhibition of the handcrafts industries at Palmyra Square and another exhibition of the Syrian popular foods.
At the Roman Amphitheatre, an artist celebration will be held in cooperation with Tourism Ministry, where foreign and Arab artist teams will be participating.
Director of Tourism stressed the importance of the festival which is considered a tourist activity to let the tourist groups and citizens know more about the Syrian original heritage.
