Al-Assad, Mubarak discuss the situation in Iraq, Palestine, by telephone
Syria-Egypt, Politics, 9/20/2004

Syrian President basher al-Assad and the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Saturday made a telephone call that dealt with the situation on the Syrian- Iraqi borders, according to the Egyptian Middle East news Agency.

The agency explained that the talks dealt with " latest developments in Iraq where a great escalation of military violence took place by the side of the occupation forces and the resistance," alike.

The two Presidents stressed the need of coordinating joint efforts of Iraq's neighboring states in order " to restore back security and stability to this country, waiting for restoring back full sovereignty."

The agency added that talks also dealt with the drastic escalation of violence in the Palestinian territories and the expansion in the Israeli settlements in these lands and rejection to implement the decision issued by the International Court of Justice over the 'wall of separation'."
