Italy will no longer observe sanctions against Libya

"Italy decided Friday not to be obliged by the partial ban imposed by the European Union against Libya even if the Union's permanent ambassadors Council will not lift such measures during their meeting in Brussels next week," JANA reported.

It said "At a press conference Friday, the Italian Interior Minister, Giuseppe Pisanu, announced that the Italian government would not enforce after now the partial sanctions imposed by European Union against Libya if these measures would not be lifted in Brussels next week."
