Three Iraqi truck drivers were assassinated, two Americans, one British were kidnapped in Baghdad

Unidentified gunmen yesterday un Baghdad yesterday at dawn kidnapped two Americans and one Britain working with " GSCS company," which has the United Arab Emirates as a headquarters and won construction contracts in Iraq.

Meantime, a website on the Internet issued a statement for the " al-Sunnah supporters army" confirming that it kidnapped and executed last Monday three Iraqi truck drivers who were transporting supplies to the American forces.

The Iraqi ministry of the interior said that the three foreigners who were kidnapped from their house in al-Mansour quarters in the downtown of Baghdad were two Americans and one Britain lived. The three were inside a two flour house in the al-Mansour suburb when gunmen broke into the house. A spokesman for the ministry Adnan Abdul Rahman said no fire was opened. he said that the three men are working in contracts with the Iraqi " Gulf services company" but explained not the field of their work.

The GSCS, which takes the UAE as a headquarters said that the three men are working for it. Eye witnesses said that the three western men were taken by the veiled and armed kidnappers who arrived to the house where the three westerners were living and kidnapped them.

The American embassy in Baghdad confirmed the news. A statement by the embassy said hat " the two Americans Jan Hensly, Eugene Jack Armstrong were kidnapped from their house in al-Mansour quarters at the hands of unidentified person together with a British man." Meantime, a website on the Internet issued a statement attributed to" al-Sunnah supporters army " confirming that it kidnapped and executed on Monday three truck drivers to the south of Iraq while transporting supplies to the American forces.

One officer in the Iraqi police Abdul Karim Khalas announced that one Syrian truck driver called Ammar Diqmaq was kidnapped on Thursday evening on the road between Karkouk and Musil to the north of Baghdad.

Meantime, the spokesman for the Jordanian foreign ministry announced the release of the Jordanian hostage Turkey al-Breizat who was declared as kidnapped in Iraq on Tuesday, one day after the Jordanian transport company for which he works announced halting its works in Iraq in response of the demands by the kidnappers.

On the other hand, the Australian government said that the kidnapping of the Shiite clergy of Australian nationality and Iraqi origin in Iraq, Muhammad Naji, has no connection to unconfirmed reports on two kidnapped Australians.

The Australians ministry of foreign affairs and trade said on Wednesday that the fate of all its non-military citizens tolled 225 in Iraq is known, but noted that certain persons it does not know about might be still there.
