Arab League Council adopted resolutions

Arab League ( AL) Council on Wednesday stressed rejection to the so-called "Syria Accountability Act" as a violation to the basis of international law, and the AL charter.
The Council expressed solidarity with Syria and appreciated its stance for giving priority to language of dialogue and diplomacy as a way of understanding and resolving of pending disputes among countries.
At the conclusions of the Council's 122nd session, the participants demanded the U.S. to reconsider the so-called "Syria Accountability Act" which constituted a flagrant bias to Israel at the account of the legitimate Arab rights.
They also called for avoiding further deterioration of the situation in the Middle East. The participants urged for not wasting peace opportunities in the region.
The Council reiterated support Lebanon's sovereignty and its right to practice internal options and right to establish and strengthen fraternal relations, cooperation and coordination with Syria.
The Council also backed Lebanon's legitimate right to liberate and restore all its lands from the Israeli occupation, calling on the international community to bear responsibilities and move immediately to force Israel to stop its violations and threats to Lebanon's sovereignty.
They also stressed support to Syria's legitimate demands in restoring the Golan up to the June 4th 1967 border on the basis of international resolutions and principles of the peace process.
The AL vehemently condemned the establishment of the Israeli settlements as a dangerous violation to Geneva Conventions and a war crime.
The AL also denounced policy of the Israeli government which destroyed the peace process, and called on the international community, particularly the cosponsors of Madrid Conference and the EU to pressure Israel into implementing the UN resolutions on the Israeli withdrawal from the Golan and all occupied Arab lands to June 4th 1967 border line.
