Al-Assad receives Sheikh Hamad, a message from the Amir of Qatar

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Monday received Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem Bin Jaber Al Thani. The Meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara.

Sheikh Hamad conveyed a message from Qatar's Amir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani to President al-Assad on the bilateral relations and the situation in the region.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the meeting of the Arab League Council on the level of Foreign Ministers which will be held in Cairo on Tuesday, the inter-Arab relations and continued consultations between the two states.

In a statement to reporters, Sheikh Hamad said that he is carrying a message to President al-Assad from Qatar's Amir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani.

He pointed out that this visit comes in the framework of continued consultations between the two states, pointing out that the discussion will concentrate on the bilateral relations, the latest developments on the Arab arena and means of unifying stances regarding the regional issues and issues of mutual interest.

On the initiatives to revive the peace process in the region, Sheikh Hamad said " We know well that Syria is serious regarding this issue but we didn't see any seriousness on the Israeli side."
