Bahrain attorney extends imprisonment of four Islamists

Attorney general in Bahrain asked yesterday extension of the imprisonment of four Islamists accused of preparing to create sabotage acts and maintaining ties with al-Qaida organization for 45 days until considering enough evidences.
Lawyer Abdullah Hashem said that the lawyer of the accused persons objected the request by the attorney to extend the imprisonment of the accused men, noting that the government decided to answer the request of the attorney general and the lawyers today ( Monday).
The four men were brought before the court after a two week grace period offered by the government in August to the Attorney General to provide enough evidences against the four accused men.
The Attorney General yesterday released other two convicted men. They are Muhammad Saleh and Omar Kamal. Hashem stressed that there was no explanation for releasing Saleh and Kamal and extending the imprisonment of the two others.
Worthy mentioning that the authorities detained in the mid of July 6 Islamists in Bahrain, who were detained for a shorter time under charges of preparing sabotage operations in the kingdom targeting tourism and economic establishments, according to the Bahraini ministry of the interior.
The authorities said that members of the group are Sheikh Muhammad Saleh, Mohey Eddine Khan, Bassan Bukha and brothers, Yasser and Omar Kamal and Bassam al-Ali.
