U.S. presents new resolution on Darfur to U.N.
Sudan-USA, Politics, 9/11/2004
The United States formally presents to the U.N. Security Council a draft resolution on Sudan that asks the United Nations to establish an international commission to investigate whether acts of genocide have occurred in Darfur. The United States also endorses an expanded, "proactive" monitoring of the situation by the African Union.
